Today I tried painting two quick studies from life (plain air and tutti quanti) with a cintiq companion, for the very first time. It's not as easy and intuitive to use as I dreamed. Photoshop without shortcuts is really a pain to use, a screen in exterior tends to mute colours, and wacom drivers are, as usual, the weakest point of their device. That said, I've never done colour sketches so quickly and so accurately from life with any other technique.
